Suspendment

Mon Sep 27, 2004, 4:17 PM
I've decided to suspend this group until I have enough time to devote my full attention to it (believe or not, I forgot how busy the end of the school year is)

So sorry, I'll begin again in a couple of weeks :)

FAQ

Welcome everyone, to Writing is a Virtue. I was browsing DA recently, and although there are heaps of communities for poetry, and lots for specialist prose, I couldn't find any for long prose writers. (Ok, that doesn't make sense, but bear with me.) So in the true tradition of communities, I made my own :bounce:

So who is this community for?

This is a community for those writers on DA who write long prose, i.e. novels, prose with chapters or stories that are too long to post as a single deviation.

Any type of prose?

Yup, fantasy, non-fiction, horror - we aim to include a wide range of genres here.

Fanfiction pleeeeeeease?

No. However if you write fanfiction and original fiction, you can join - you just can't submit fanfiction to be critiqued or enter it into contests.

Do I have to be really really good?

Nope, you can be a beginner writer or someone who has been writing for years. We aim to develop and improve our writing skills, so people of all abilities are welcome.

What is your aim?

For our members to give and receive constructive, well-thought and practical comments on pieces of writing, and to aim to improve and, (like in my case) actually finish stories that they begin.

So what's going to happen here?

Once we get more members, I hope to hold monthly competitions and hopefully writing excercises. I might eeeeven get my act together and make a website containing our stories and pictures to go along all in one, to make easier accsess for reading.

Ok, so blah blah blah, how do I join?

Send me a note with 'member' as the subject. You don't have to write anything, but if you'd like to include a personal message to make me smile you would make my day :hump: Please do not leave a message on this page, it is unlikely that I would read it. And I would not add you even if you did, because you obviously didn't read this.

After you do, it would be nice if you could put the name of this club in your journal (:dev writingisavirtue : without the spaces) or even the icon, which I can't remember the code for, but I'm sure you're all cleverer cookies than me and can figure it out.

So who are you, anyway?
